Part of the activities of the Control Energy Program is to conduct research, and write studies to analyse and reveal the conditions of the Hungarian energy sector. We investigate its institutional and legal background, financial processes, and decision-making mechanisms. Another goal of ours is to study the process of creating the energy market regulations and the motivation of players within, and the potential corruption risks. These researches and the information obtained are important to point out the focus of problems; to find out where exactly rights are infringed; and why decisions are made as they are – often with the complete exclusion of the public. Based on all these we search for the optimal solutions to the problems revealed in order to inform the public on decisions concerning them for the sake of public participation.
